Love Christmas lights? So do we! We're Barry and Judy Olson and we welcome you to come on by our house at 1500 52nd Ave SW, Minot ND, and get in the holiday spirit with our synchronized Christmas light show. We have our lights on nightly from Thanksgiving night from dark-10p (weather permitting) THRU New Year's Eve. Turn your radio to 94.1 FM when you're about 200 feet from our house and watch the lights dance to the music! Check out some pictures or videos of our decorations. Visit our Facebook page for updates. Unfortunately, we have to "deflate" our inflatables on nights when the wind is too strong, so we've really had to cut back on using them. Check out the Minot 2021 Holiday Lights map from our menu, which has both the map and a listing below of each one with the brief description and address. i tried to put them in geographical order. Thanks so much to Tyler Schmaltz for creating the map! We also have desciptions of our display below.
HIGHLIGHTS: Our nativity scene is the first thing you'll see to remind you of the true meaning of Christmas. Next up is our new camper, decorated for the holidays. Don't worry, though...we still have our old camper with some interesting characters inside!
MIDDLE: This area is mainly animated lighting. Our Singing Christmas Tree can be found on the garage rooftop and sings along with Believe, Holly Jolly Christmas, and Feliz Natividad (every other song).
RIGHT SIDE: Most of our characters are on this side. We have our older camper (check out the interesting characters inside), Bumble the Abominable Snowman, Santa with Rudolph (we have a Help Wanted sign for 8 tiny reindeer) and several other winter creatures! The inflatable Grinch sure has a loaded sleigh, but don't worry...he's bringing them back! If you visit on a balmy night, you just might find Santa and maybe an elf outside handing out candy canes. Our picture page has close ups.
DO'S AND DON'TS: Please be courteous of others. Dim your lights if possible while watching the light show and please don't turn around in or park in our neighbor's driveways. The road loops back around to 16th. Just take a left at the fork, or a right for the long way around. Most importantly, we DO hope you enjoy the display! We love hearing from you!
